Nusa Suriamas Group Malaysia will invest Rp 400 billion in a waste processing plant in Kabpaten, Semarang, Indonesia

On the 28th of February 2018, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between PT AHN and Pemkab Semarang in Pendapa Rumah Dinas Bupati Semarang to build an anaerobic digestion plant that will process 200 – 300 tons of waste daily, and generate electricity and fertilizer products. The MOU was signed by Ery Zulma, President of PT AHN and Bupati of Semarang Mundjirin.

Mr. Marko Kärkkäinen, President of Ductor Corp. Asia Pacific, was also present in the ceremony. Ductor Corporation will have an important role in the project since it’s biological fermentation technology will be a part of the technology package included in the investment.

The aim is to construct this WTE (waste to energy) plant within three years. The project will be done in two stages. The first stage is to study feasibility and design details of the cooperation plan. The second stage is the construction of the plant. This kind of a plant would be the first in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. It would recruit about 100 employees from Semarang and surrounding districts. This plant will provide a solution to Semarang Regency’s garbage problem and certify it as a green environment area.
