Ductor at EBA Conference in Gent, Belgium, 27-29.9.2016
Commission Vice-President Mr. Jyrki Katainen, responsible for jobs, growth, investments and competitiveness said: ‘’Unfortunately very few of the abundant bio-waste resources are transformed into valuable fertilizing products although the key principle of the Circular Economy is the re-use of raw materials‘’. This spring the Commission has proposed the Regulation which should ease the access of organic and waste-based fertilizers to the EU single market. However, the rules for acceptable fertilizers will be tightened in order to reduce health and environmental risks.

Mr. Ilkka Virkajärvi and Mrs. Minna Leppikorpi from Ductor Corporation had a chance to present Ductor’s innovative fertilizing products produced from organic materials, such as chicken manure, to VP Jyrki Katainen during the EBA Conference in Gent on 27.9.2016. With Ductor’s fermentation technology, nitrogen and phosphorus are recovered from organic material. Consequently, the biogas production process becomes clearly more manageable and environmentally friendly. Even the tightened limits introduced by the Commission for cadmium in phosphate fertilizers will not create obstacles for Ductor organic fertilizers trade within EU.
